Besides being slightly addicted to phones, I went with the S20U because of the screen off memos with the SPen. Bonus was being able to use it as a shutter for the camera. I see some say they use it everyday, I don't but I would sure miss it if it were gone. The loss of BT was why I didn't get the S25U, and I delusionally hoped that the outcry from the 25 might convince them to bring it back for the 26. Now seeing the sPen, yeah little s on this one, for the S26U it really feels like they might be doing away with it. It's smaller, no BT, it definitely isn't a draw to the phone anymore.
The crazy thing about all of this for me is, when I got the S10+, my first Samsung smart phone, I saw all of these comparison videos for it and the Note10 and thought, how useless is a pen on a smartphone, what would you even do with that, only to turn around and have it's neutering be the thing that stopped me from upgrading not one but two years in a row now.
I don't see them bring it back next year and with the downsizing I could imagine them not bringing it back at all. First nerf it, 25, then reduce it by making it small and uncomfortable to use, 26. Next will either be a short stubby version that they will say they needed the space for something else, the way they took the headphone jack so there was more room for, wait what did we get for the loss of the port... that's right nothing. A big fat nothing while devices got more expensive with fewer and fewer features. And no, none of the AI crap that they are pushing counts because it isn't a feature if every device does or will have the same once their device updates.
