S-Pen Removal Alarm

Because of your post, I just noticed this thread - mine doesn't work either. Resetting the S-Pen didn't help either! I noticed that as I got maybe 60 or 70 feet away from the pen, the pen icon at the top of the phone "grey'd" out, but no alarm or even a dialogue box???

Was your screen OFF? Notice that you only get the alarm if the screen is OFF.

Ahhh... no, it was not! Thank you - I'll test it again with it off! That was probably it! I kept refreshing the screen so I could watch it as I walked away...

Worked! You were right... thanks again! Not sure if I like the new distance though - somebody could/would probably scoff the pen by the time you turned around and got back to it in a busy bar/restaurant, etc.

One thing that I forgot about this alarm is that you will only get the alarm if the screen is OFF when you walk away.

I had my phone in my hand and walked as I normally would... I don't know if the screen was off or not or when it went off.

I lost my Note 8's S-Pen in the snow & ice during a fall. The replacement was under $10. I haven't found a replacement for the Note 9 under $40... That can start to get costly!

Bestbuy has them for $30

I walked 21 steps away from my SPen, with the screen off and the phone vibrated. The popup was reminder to reinsert my SPen.

Even at $30, it could be costly if it keeps popping out. It hasn't happened since, so I am hoping it was a one-time mishap...

Its possible my screen was on for the first however many steps but is I stick it in my purse I will never feel the vibration or see the pop up...

I don't see me leaving it somewhere so chances are I won't need to worry about it.
I wanted to get a notification sound to work with the alarm saying hey B*tch you left your S-pen behind or you dropped it or something, but I haven't seen an option for replacing the alarm file

I couldn't figure a way to edit anything about the alarm. It did chirp - chirp, after I disconnected my watch. I forgot that it wouldn't sound because notification and call sounds are silenced when connected to A Wear device.
The volume of the alarm is controlled by notification volume.

When I have more time I wil look deeper into Note Buddy. There has to be a setting in there that I missed, or I hope there is!

On a side Note, I haven't used my Note 10.1 2014 for a few months but I started using it in for the last week, I turned it on today and NO s-Pen!! I just laughed and said uncle!

Not to go off on a tangent, but I slightly dropped my phone on the bus the other night and after picking it up, I realized the S-Pen was missing. I could not find it immediately and I started taking blind photos at foot level to see if I could see it. At first I didn't see it, but then I saw something yellowish in the distance in one of the photos, and sure enough, it was the S-Pen. I retrieved it under someone else's seat. For the first time I am thankful that the S-Pen is yellow (for the blue Note 9, that is). :)

I notice that for me, the S-Pen pops out very easily when the phone is dropped short distance. I mean, like 2 feet or so. It's happened twice now.

Yes, the phone was in a case. :)

Ok my S pen alarm works as long as my Bluetooth is off. And the screen goes off automatically. If I'm using a Bluetooth device I get a slight notification. But I must open the screen. W/o Bluetooth I get visual & audio & the screen opens. Must be a glitch because the pen is a Bluetooth device. Note 9 on sprint.

I had downloaded Darth Vader's lightsaber sound when my s pen was removed. so whenever it accidentally injected I always heard it.
Check out Jimmy is promo on YouTube.
changing s pen removal sound.

My alarm works fine. I get haptic, audio & a message on my screen. But screen has to be off. And I have the floating clock on.
