S pen scratching screen?

Yeah I absolutely agree and would definitely pay for it. Unfortunately it's the manufacturers who decide if it goes in from the get go. I wouldn't buy a Sapphire "screen protector" to slap ontop of my actual screen though. At that point, why bother?

Hopefully Samsung steps up to the plate and eats the cost so we can see it on the Note 3.

I wouldn't do a screen protector either. I just want a stock screen. I despise scratches so I'm stuck using s pocket pouch. Besides, what good is a screen protector when the SPen damages it?

I bet you Motorola will be the first company to do this. Their build quality is amazing and what better way to say TOUGH then a Sapphire screen.

I'm currently using the Verizon screen protector and haven't had a single scratch from the pen. It's mostly been from the random dust and stuff in my pocket.

I am using a tempered glass screen protector and the s pen works great with it. I get top notch screen protection,,,a no screen protector look and feel and a natural glass experience.

Note 2, it's true, ,size is everything!

Two months in, no screen protector and my screen looks brand new. I use the S Pen everyday and not a scratch to be found. I am very careful about keeping it clean though. I am in and out of the office all day so the phone travels and still no scratching.

Same here, not a scratch since getting the Note 2 last November (no screen protectors or case, just a Monaco leather pouch). Even my old Thunderbolt that I used for a year and half still has a screen as pristine as the first day out of the box. Ditto for my tablets (Nexus 7 and Note 10.1). The key is to be fastidious in keeping things clean and always being proactive about protecting the device. I do so to such a degree they don't even get finger prints on them (always ensure hands are clean before using device and no one else is allowed to touch them). :p

Actually the stylus is made by Wacom. But you would expect that it wouldn't scratch the screen if Samsung had any forethought in trying to avoid replacing millions of screens. Something they could easily check when developing the device. BTW, Wacom is a long time, noted digital stylus and companion digitizing pad maker.

why would Samsung be required to replace the screen just because the S-Pen somehow scratched the screen? (unless they made the stylus out of metal or something by mistake)

Even with the Gorilla Glass, the Note 2 screen can be scratched quite easily. Samsung and Corning do not guarantee 100% scratchproof.

Be careful. I have scratches all over my screen from the S-pen. I have 5 other tablet /phones that are older without a scratch on them. News: The S-pen DOES cause scratches! I am so upset about it. I have to get the glass replaced and use the soft tips that comes with it. I don't care for the soft tips because of the drag.
