S Planner Dots and lines no brief description

Hi. I have just updated from s4 to s5.
The S Planner looks different. I use to have a brief message on the day of an event when in the monthly view. Now I just have dots and lines. How do I fix this?

Also I use to easily add to s planner from email by holding on the date in the email. I can't seem to do it now. Any help please.
