SGS3 S-VOICE APK (will only work on ICS!) - xda-developers

So I have successfully installed the apk on my Galaxy Nexus, but each time I try and do a search on S Voice, it says "Network Error." Anyone else try to flash it or know what could cause a network error? Oh and sorry if the title is misleading...there is no need to flash the app in recovery...I installed the apk from the sd card section on my phone from Astro file manager...again sorry to those who find the title misleading....can't edit the thread title :(

Getting network errors as well

Wonder if we're overloading a service that technically isn't supposed to be running yet?

Wonder if Samsung is blocking non Galaxy 3 devices?

Wonder if it makes a difference if we're running stock ICS or not?

It runs on my phone (it answers what i say etc) but i cant change the command prompt (hi galaxy is ridiculous), and i can't get it to unlock with the command from lock or sleep at all. some settings make it force close.

Otherwise it's interesting but not quite fast enough and practically useless without being able to wake the phone with the command.

Yup....Network error on mine also, it was working earlier but i was running in to all of the problems that zero listed.

Yesterday it worked I could tell it when to set alarm to wake me up, turn wifis on, find pizza /restaurants. I could say music and it would open my music but if I said play music it would FC.
This afternoon all I get is network error somethings borked ha. Interesting when it worked tho

I refuse to address my phone "hi galaxy"

:)

Tried to change it's name to Cortana, but the app crashed before I could. Still getting network error when I try using it. Anyone else having better luck?

use a root explorer app to edit your build.prop to mimic that of the SGSIII.

Change...
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus

To...
ro.product.model=GT-I9300

Do the same with line ro.product.device

Save changes and exit app. Reboot device and enjoy.

Love my G Nexus

Yup Samsung and VLingo blocked S Voice from non Samsung Galaxy S III devices but changing those two lines in build.prop does trick their servers into thinking your phone is a Galaxy S III and S Voice will work. Ive tried it and can confirm it works

Thanks, seems to work now!!!

But it does suffer from the same crashes that other people have noted

All in all, disappointing if they think they can take down Siri with this :)

How do you edit the build.prop in root explorer?

Did this and working but force closes the app before anything can happen. What should I do?
