S Voice Equivalent

I recently bought the LG V20 from Verizon. So far, I love it, but something is missing. I am a recent "convert" from Samsung. Both my Note 2 and Note 3 had hands free mode with S Voice. I have Google Assistant turned on, and it works well to send text messages when I'm driving. It doesn't however, read incoming messages to me. Does anybody know of an "equivalent" app that will do on my V20 what S Voice did on my Samsung devices?

I had it reading texts to me through the Google app in the past, but it's not a feature I generally use and turned it off. Next chance I get, I'll try to figure it out again. I'm also on the Verizon version.

My AT&T V20 has that feature, under Settings, then More and then Message/call voice notifications

I just tried it with a new text before clearing the notification. I brought up Assistant and told it to "read new text messages." It did so, then asked if I wanted to reply. Similar voice commands may work as well.
