(Disclaimer: I did search for a solution before I posted.)

I have had my Galaxy S3 for about a year. I love it! I always use a headset when I drive: Jabra EasyGo. However, a new ordinance has been implemented in my area regarding no cell phone use when driving. There is an exception for people using hands free. So, I decided that it might be in my best interest to start utilizing the S Voice features. Last night, I tried it out (with my headset), and it worked great ... except for one thing. I cannot wake up S Voice by saying "Hi Galaxy." The command seems to work just fine when I am not using my headset. However, when my headset is connected (via bluetooth) and S Voice is at rest, the screen doesn't even say "Press the button or say 'Hi Galaxy'" like it does when the headset is not connected. All of the other commands seem to work fine, but that doesn't do me much good if I have to manually wake up the app.

Does anyone have experience with this? Do I need to get a different headset?

All I can say is I use a Jawbone IconHd and it works perfect with S-voice when holding down the button on the headset. Never kept the awake function on due to battery consumption..

Thank you. So, you don't say "Hi Galaxy" to wake up the app?

I suspect that it is a headset issue in my case. Maybe it's time for an upgrade. ;)

First the lock screen has to be unlocked for S Voice to work. I alternate between Motorola Elite BT and LG Tone BT headset. On both all I do is push the button on the BT headset and S Voice activates.

Nope ... The problem I have is specific to using S Voice with my bluetooth (Jabra EasyGo). S Voice works fine on my phone (without BT). S Voice commands work fine with the BT, as long as the app is active. Once it goes inactive, I cannot activate it by a) pushing the button on my BT or b) saying "Hi Galaxy." I have to press the button in the app to activate S Voice when my bluetooth is connected.
