Is anyone else having issues with trying to voice dictate a message with the stock Samsung messages app from the watch?
I keep getting the "voice input fail".

My Frontier is only a week old I'm wondering if something is wrong with it. I'm within my 2-week Exchange.

I did a reset already. Everything else is working perfectly. I am able to give a command to S Voice so I know my mic is working.

Thanks

Mine did the same after about a week, I changed the English language to English united Kingdom I think it was and now it's working fine, when your in the mic part tap the 3 dots on the right and you'll get your choice to change language just select the other English language assuming that's what your using

Your welcome, yeah not sure what's up with US English but not enough to to warrant a return or exchange and now I'm outside of that choice so anything now would be warranty but seems OK

I have the same issue. UK works sometimes but not all the time. It's been a week and multiple resets still no change. Also there is no messaging app on the watch. It shows my text messages as they come in but if they are cleared there is no app to open and look at the thread. If I want to message someone I have to go to that contact and select send a message.

Look in setting you should see messages there with all the other apps, also you can install a widget/shortcut, from watch face just turn bazel to the right until you see add

Same probelm here. Mine was working fine with my S7E, then paired it with my S8 and this problem started. Anyone had any luck fixing this?

I listed mine on Ebay, I guess I'm going back to my Huawei watch. Very frustrating, but without s-voice in messaging, the watch is worthless to me.

Still getting voice input failed here. However I have found that if when replying to a message instead of hitting the microphone voice to text button if I go to the keyboard button and turn the dial back one to the globe icon it turns on voice to text and the automatic US English option works. It only works about half the time.

Well that's not good, I mainly use mine just to read and then respond from my phone, not the most friendly interface for replying to text

Well after a week or so back to voice failed like everyone else.
I would have to think Samsung will be updating S Voice to fix this.
I'm going to call tech support just to report it not play games with them and reset the watch or anything. I've already done that.
Honestly coming from Android Wear it's not enough to make me want to switch back. This is by far the best wearable I've ever used. Everything else if spot on.

I'm having the same problem. Mine started to act up after the most recent Gear software update. Hope S-Voice updates with a fix soon.

Are you guys ensuring you have a good cellular signal? I tried inside at work the other day and it failed. Went outside and it worked fine.

Mine is the non-cellular plus I had it since day one. Worked fine for months until the latest update. Consider yourself an anomaly and lucky. Thanks for the feedback though.

mine's not a cellular one either, but your cell phone still has to have a good signal

Using S Voice requires a cellular signal so that it can connect with Samsung servers. It can use the radio in the watch if it's an LTE model or the phone if it's BT.

Google and Apple's assistants work similarly.

Yes, I thought of that as well so have made sure I've had strong cell service. I've even tried while just connected to WiFi. Still errors.
I'm sure an update will correct things.

Thanks for your perspective, but that's null n void. As stated previously, the feature has worked since day one in all areas I travel, plus I stay with a good signal. For whatever, mine, along with countless others have been hit with a bug ever since the update and request an OTA fix to resolve the issue. Again, consider yourself lucky that you're not impacted by this matter.
