I just bought a used S10, It had a full battery when i picked it up, and on the way home with it it turned off while I was playing with it, I plugged it in to charge it with all original cables and it powers up to the battery screen and shuts off over and over. I tried a wireless charger and it won't do anything with it. I don't believe the battery is dead at all, I think the firmware is crashing before it gets to read battery level.

I tried to get into the boot menu and only get 3 options, recovery, normal, and fastboot. Phone will remain on at this screen, but as soon as I select any option the powered by android screen flashes and it shuts off. Cant even get into recovery mode

I tried smart switch on the PC hoping it would detect, but the constant boot loop brings the USB up and down with it. Same thing with ODIN, cannot connect as phone is constantly rebooting with usb connected.

I've done a lot of searches and not found anything related, how can I recover this?

How long have you left it plugged in?

If you can't get into the recovery or fastboot there is literally nothing you can do to fix it without taking it apart.

Take it back to wherever you got it.

I ended up pulling it apart, found that it has been disassembled before, some of the pads have been soldered to (JTAG maybe?) and the wireless charge coils are missing. I was very surprised to find just a snap in plastic back cover instead of the glass I'm used to. Upon reassembly it booted up just fine so I'm assuming there were some ribbon cable connection problems, Whoohoo! But the biggest surprise yet was that once powered on it is the 1TB version! It still doesn't have cellular connectivity, so I ran the model number (SM-G9700UD) in google and only found a few references to a Chinese site, so I'm now wondering if it's a rest of world phone that won't work with the cellular bands we use in the US?

Sounds suspiciously like a fake S10.

Yeah, either that or a two-bit repair/recondition job.

Where did you get it OP? Some randomer on Craigslist? If you still plan on using it make sure you've don't a factory reset at least...

To be honest, it seems like your level of knowledge is high enough that you should know better! lol.

Yeah, it's fake as ****! It's also the best fake I've ever seen. Has the cutouts in the screen for the camera and everything. But it's slow, useless, poor quality cameras, so I gotta figure out what to do with a $50 POS that I paid $500 for!

That a sad story.
