S10 Lite - Default Home Issue

Hi All, I am sure other posts exist regarding this but I wanted to give my input regarding this. Currently there is a ongoing issue where the default home app decides to default to 'none'. For me this is happening every time I clear all the apps. Normally way to fix this is to clear all the cache and data from One Home UI. Sadly this fix only last for a few reboots.

I've seen post on Samsung's official forums regarding this and on here. I've raised in the Samsung forums and got advice on what could be done. I refuse to factory reset my phone to fix this. I do not see this nuclear option as being the way to solve this issue. I use Nova Launcher Beta, I've do not believe that this causes the issue.

One of the ways to mitigate this issue was to install Good Lock and Task Changer. Samsung being Samsung decided to **** that up by rolling it into the Home Up. Didn't need to do it but decided why the hell not. I am beginning to believe that Samsung do not want people to use Third Party Launchers. That they're making moves to prevent people from doing this.

Barring sending my phone into them to repair, which will require a factory reset. I have no clue what else to do.

If anyone has advice on how we can raise this with Samsung or even get their attention to this issue. I would be grateful because for me this has begun to ruin a phone that I like.

Normally I would agree but this issue starting occurring when I was using AIO Launcher. I reached out to the dev and they told me that they didn't have any issues. I swtiched to Nova before the current version but the issue didn't disappear.

The only time I managed to fix it was by using Task Changer on Android 10. My suspicion is that when you clear all your recent apps, it clears the launcher as well.

I've made sure that launcher isn't battery optimised and is not put to sleep. Yet the issue still occurs.

From my experience been using Nova myself and was on the beta and was doing like you described and I went back to non beta for Nova and been fine , yours could be different but thats my experience.

By the way it was on my Note20U with one UI 3.1

Cheers for the input and information. I may try that tonight and see what happens. I don't want to change launchers as I have Nova set how I want it.

Yeah I can imagine , do you make back up with Nova? I do to Google drive .

Back it up every few months. I've got a folder with other launcher backups as well. I am going to switch to Microsoft Launcher and see what happens with that. If the same issue occurs, then its a bug.

Ok sounds like a plan , also if your using gestures with andriod 11 and a launcher it can create issues as goggle gestures havnt really been fixed with that.

Also you can send feedback and make comments read by Samsung using the community section in the Samsung Members app.

I unistalled all of the good lock modules as well to be on the safe side. If anyone finds this thread, please try this. It has worked for me. If that changes, I will come and update this thread.
