S10e display not "Sunlight Friendly"

Whenever I take out my S10e on a sunny day, I am unable to see anything on the display. I mean literally, NOTHING due to the sunlight. I don't have any screen protector, only a phone case.

I had to adjust the display brightness all the way to the maximum which is not a solution as that can drain the battery faster. I usually leave it on half just for the battery to last longer.

Does anyone have the same issue seeing the screen during sunny days when outdoors?

Everyone else has this problem, with every phone, the problem is physics.

This is why the brightness goes so high, turn it up.

Agreed. OP wanted to keep screen brightness halfway yet so plains that they cannot see the screen in a sunny day? Was that truly the question?

I'm assuming you have it on manual control the brightness, I leave it in auto that's where it gets the highest brightness.

I’m such a dummy...I see the Adaptive Brigtness toggle switch. I enabled that now and I’m going to test it.

Is Adaptive Brightness enabled by default? Reason I ask, because after I performed a factory data reset a while ago, just couldn’t remember disabling this feature.

This is the solution. You can't have low brightness and see screens in the sun.

I'm glad things are working better for you! It's hard for me to see the screen on my Pixel 2 as well when it's sunny outside. I think it's difficult with most phones. I have my brightness on "adaptive" and it usually serves me well.
