S2 or S3?

I'm buying a new phone and I'm considering either the S2 or the S3. Some of my friends tell me that the S3 is not significantly better than the S2, so I should just save money and get the S2 with the ICS update. Others, however, say the S2 with the ICS update is a mess with the battery performance having dwindled down and lags occur a lot often.

What I'm thinking is to wait for a month or so until the S3 has an updated firmware and for its price to possibly drop. The problem with this, however, is that the new iPhone might come out and could possibly be better than the S3.

What do you guys think?

How much is s2?...... how many gb's is included?
the iphone 5 will not be better than the s3 if you have not felt the need for a iphone yet.

also from what i have learned with my dinc is that upgrading a new great os is not always a good thing if the old hardware isnt going to be able to keep up with it.

what are you using now?

SIII (S3) and One X are the best Android phones out now (or immediate future), I can't see getting anything less, personally. I'm no expert, but it seems the Qualcomm S4 chip is reportedly quite a bit of an improvement over the chip in the SII. iPhone is out of the question for most Android enthusiasts on these boards, so that won't factor into many opinions here, IMHO.

I'm currently looking at a Samsung Galaxy S2 with an internal storage of 16 GB, which is currently priced at ? 338 in the local stores in my area.

no i mean the price differance between the phones?
im well aware that the pound beats the dollar 2 to 1 :p

if your talking about a big difeerence then get what your wallet is comfortable with.... just be advised that this s3 is gonna really be a beast .... the s2 is a great phone as well.

dont worry about the iphone 5 .... the 4s is a great phone but i still would not pick it over even a mid level android.

Don't worry about the how the GS2 runs with ICS, its runs freaking great, and its even faster now than it was on Gingerbread. Built in hardware acceleration is the shiznit.

I would recommend the s2, I am about to get an s2 on a contract with 3 mobile, it is ?22 a month and the handset free with unlimeted Internet/data, 5000 texts and 300 minuits so plenty of all, it depends whether you would like a pay as you go or contract/pay monthly I would a contract as its Easier to deal with and you don't have to pay for the phone it's self.

Lol at this thread being 12 months old. I don't think anyone would get the s2 since s4 is out and s3 is super cheap
