Can someone please verify with me that the proper placement of the cards is such that the GOLD part faces OUTWARDS away from each other? I don't want to mess this up before I turn the phone on for the first time and it seems by nature of the cutouts in the tray, the only way I can get both to fit is the GOLD part exposed OUTWARDS away from each other opposite sides. Appreciate any help.

When I put my SIM card into the phone with both a SIM card on one side and a micro SD card on the other, it felt very very tight, almost as if I had to force it in. I am afraid that if I try and take it out one day it will not do so.
Anyone else notice this?

Make sure the sd card and sim sit flush in the tray

Well yeah, did that when I first put the cards in.
When I first opened the box and took the SIM card holder out, I noticed that it wasn't easy to remove the card. Usually, I am used to just inserting the SIM card tool, pushing it in and the holder will pop out. With this phone (and with the Motorola Edge 5G that I tried before it), doing just that would not pop either holder out. I also had to sort of push the SIM card remover sideways to sort of catch the holder itself and pull it out. Both phones were like this. When I first put the SIM card back in, it went in just fine, and when I later took it out again to add the micro SD card, it popped out as it should. However even after checking that both cards were flat, pushing the holder back in was not smooth and I had to exert more force to do so.
I suppose I should just remove the holder to see how easily it comes out, but I am almost afraid to try this out of fear that I may break it.

Can confirm (set mine up last night). Gold faces out for both SIM and SD card. They kind of snap in place, it shouldn't require too much force. The tray is shaped to fit, just match up the shapes like a puzzle. When you put the tray back in it's snug, but again shouldn't requite too much force.

Try it without sd card and sim , how does it fit? If it goes in good that means your not putting the sd card and sim correct in the tray .

Thanks, I just took the micro card out. It does go in a bit smoother. Thing is when it was new and had no SIM card in it, it still wasn't easy to get out of the phone. I have to stick the SIM card tool in and sort of try and latch it onto the try to pull it out.
Anyway, I have other issues with the phone that I am now dealing with. It's not as problematic free as I had first thought.

Yeah, try going in and out of the slot few times , what other issues?

Proximity sensor takes too long to turn the screen off when lifting to my ear....it presses the keys causing the phone to dial a number when on a call...this makes it useless if I am on a call with an automated answering system asking for numbers to be pressed.
Samsung tech support knows nothing about this issue.
