Today, when attempting to send emails, I get a notification "Sending failed", and then in the Outbox for that email is an orange message "Couldn't send email - There was a problem connecting to the server." Note that the phone is connected to my home wifi network, and email has always worked before.

You know when you have wifi off your on your carrier mobile data

Sending email failed both with no wifi (I was out walking) and with wifi on, back at home (and I checked the phone settings; connected to my wifi nework).

Ok , long press the app then tap info> scroll to storage and tap it and clear cache and also force stop it .

Sometimes if this happens it can help to go into the email settings and click on the email account. Go to the bottom where it says Advanced settings, server settings. Delete and input in your username and password into the settings both under email address and under smtp settings. If there is nothing under smtp settings then input the email address (username) and password there. Then click done. It should check your settings are working and save the details.

This is basically a manual reset. The. Try sending again.

Hmm ok same place storage clear its data then force close this will reset the app , might be a glitch .

I did that, and of course have to set up new email accounts. I'm in that process and having a few issues. Will report when at least one email account is set up.
