S20 Ultra or Note20 Ultra?

Not only will it be brighter....My sources tell me it will be so bright you will have to wear shades.

That wouldn't make any sense. The whole point of LTPO is enabling the variable refresh rate and for power savings. No point in making an already bright display even brighter and canceling out that power savings.

If you don't use the s-Pen that much, any reason to ditch the S20 Ultra for the new Note 20 Ultra?

Not really, the Note line is basically an S series phone with a smaller battery to make room for the S Pen. It's half a year newer so if you keep if for 4 years the Note will get one or two extra security patches in 2024.

Kidding

Well, the S20 Ultra is $100 more than the Note20 Ultra. The Note20 Ultra has a faster processor, an S-Pen, and looks far more attractive than the S20 Ultra. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

now granted, note 20 ultra does have less ram, smaller battery and less camera zoom (for whatever that's worth) than s20 ultra.

Exactly why I've been saying, if you don't use the S pen, stay with the s20 ultra. The note 20 ultra is kind of a downgrade when you list all those. Of course the camera zoom is not all that on the s20 ultra.

I broke my s20 ultra and insurance is sending me a check to buy phone of choice, so I'm buying the note 20 ultra 512 for that reason only. If I still had the s20 ultra, I am pretty sure I wouldn't be getting the note 20 ultra, only thing I would have gained is the S pen. Just received the check today

Don't use the pen often but on those rare days you have that itch down the middle of your back and need something to reach it... The pen has made the entire cost of the phone worth every penny :p

That's honestly what I miss most about my note. Didn't use the s pen much, but it was nice to have the pen gestures. Talking in past tense as if I still don't have my note 10+ lol but it isn't my daily driver.

Note 20 ultra isn't worth the upgrade this year and that's coming from somebody who upgrades twice a year, staying with my s20 ultra until I hear more news concerning the Z fold 2 which is the new king 👑

If I didn't break my s20 ultra and have a Insurance check to pay for the note 20 ultra I would not update either. There is just not enough changes, you already have the main things the note 20 is bringing. I do feel it's a good update from the note 10, just like going to the S 20 ultra was a good update from the note 10. I'm not saying the note 10 is a bad phone, it's a great phone, I'm saying for upgrades, Samsung gave decent changes making upgrading feel worth it.

I think this year is the year the Note is no longer an upgrade over the S, but it's a just as equally capable, better in some things, worse in some things, 1st cousin. Heck it's even cheaper (Thank God) hopefully the price drop trend continues on all Samsung phones from now on until it's reasonable. The Note is now all business and is probably the best in the business at being a no nonsense, adult oriented, get things done phone. The S line has gone all in with camera (despite mistakes), social media and media consumption. I think Mr. Who's the boss said something similar to that too. The Note, is the straight A student, who's going to Harvard to be an academic and one day CEO. The S, is the star athlete, socialite going to the best Division 1 school for their sport of choice and will one day turn pro. IMO

The s pen is the thing. Its called the note for a reason. If you don't really use the s pen, then no real reason to upgrade IMO

That function has been present since the Note9 I believe and I began using it Labor Day Weekend 2018. I believe it's a very handy function, especially for group photos, if you preset the framing parameters. Yeah, very handy.

I used it on my Note 9 just to test the feature but haven't used it since. Voice commands have worked for years so it's what I've stuck with out of habit.
