Has anyone installed GPSTEST (GPSTest - Apps on Google Play), free, on the s21? Supposedly the s21 has GPS capability of L1 and L5 (much more precise GPS location).

I do not want to do the trade in special (S7 to S21), if the S21 is not picking up both L1 and L5. With the trade in specials, you do not get you phone back, if you cancel out of the deal.

If anyone wants to test it for you, the Status screen on GPSTest will show L1 or L5, depending on the band it's receiving the particular satellite on. (There are a few apps called GPS Test - the one I linked to, by barbeauDev, makes the L1/L5 determination easy. [My Pixel 2 evidently has only an L1 receiver.] The Note 10 came with a dual band receiver, but the firmware only read the L1 signals.)

Very rough and ready test with GPSTest and GPS Status & Toolbox.

Test done, indoors, in the sunny Cotswolds of England on the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.

Hope it helps

My Galaxy S21 with snapdragon 888 doesn't have dual frequency.
It's odd because it should have them according to Qualcomm. Maybe the phone or OS doesn't support it.
