S21 Purchase Thread

One thing that could become an issue with Rakuten with those using other promo codes and/or redeeming Samsung points, is in the fine print Rakuten says they won't pay out the full percentage cash back advertised if it is combined with other promotions.

I'm in the process of having them look at my account being credited the remaining 8% I wasn't credited this week (they just credited me 2%). Hoping them come through but I read a lot of their fine print and this concerns me. Just wanted to pass the information along to everyone.

Thanks. They do say that however I've never once had an issue by using one. Got my 10% for the S21 ultra reorder quickly. Last year my only issue was that it took weeks to get credited.

Last year, about 3 or so months after I ordered the S20+ I realized I never got my 10% cash back from Rakuten. I emailed them and they went back and confirmed the sale with Samsung and issued my cash back about a month later.

Good to know. The CS agent I emailed with said the same thing about it taking a while to post. Only thing that concerned me was the 2% being posted the day of the sale.

I hate to high jack this thread but how is everyone getting more than $100 credit for pre-order with rauketen? I add it as an extension but it still shows me $100 credit. I pre-ordered and I have $160 in my Samsung app.

Just talked to Rakuten CS on the phone. Forwarded them the email of my purchase from Samsung and was credited the full 10%. Thank you to those in this thread who helped share their experiences.
 
@Rose4uKY I got the Flamingo Pink back when you did. I don’t even remember anymore now how long I waited for that phone, but it was many weeks. I traded mine in for a Note 10 because my S10+ had a problem with the proximity sensor during calls. My cheek ended up almost booking me airline tickets while I was on a call to my dad. Lol.

There wasn’t any particular problem with the Note 10 but I traded it for the Pink S20 to get a better camera. It’s a good phone but I’ve had struggles with the fingerprint sensor.

Now I’m getting a brown S21 Ultra and my husband is getting the black one. I remember you from previous pre-orders because you and I both always order with our husbands and we always do trade ins and we always both have something go a bit odd with our transactions.

I did several cancellations this time, too. First I had a black 256 GB ordered. There was a glitch and it prevented me from ordering my brown S21 Ultra. The glitch made the trade in value of my S20 go down to $375 instead of $700 every time I selected the brown phone.

The next day I discovered I could now select the brown one so I canceled my first order and ordered the brown 256 GB Ultra.

When my husband finally decided he was going to trade his awful S20 Ultra in, I canceled mine so he could go first. That’s in case Samsung tried to put a hold on a second order that involves a trade like they’ve done to us in the past.

I made a mistake on my order, picking the wrong accessories, and canceled it and then finally made one last one. This time I got the right cases that I wanted. I also added in a coupon code for $50 someone posted to this forum that I hadn’t seen before. I figured while I was at it I may as well go up to 512GB since I can’t use my SD card anymore. I used my credit to get the purple ear buds and a black rugged case and paid at discount for the cover case that has the S-pen. I regret not ordering the purple silicone case since that was discounted, too. But maybe I’ll pick that up when my points are applied to my Samsung account.

I hope there’s nothing wrong with this phone so I can keep it 2 years this time.

I would have liked to have kept my S10+ two years. It was the last model with a headphone jack. The camera was nice. My note 10 camera was not as good, somehow and I would have regretted that trade, but at least the proximity sensor worked.
 
I'm going to keep my S20 Ultra. No SD slot kills it for me. I'm someone who upgrades every year and I don't think I'll be getting the S21 Ultra because of this. I wanted to get the S21 Ultra but this is a deal breaker.
If you upgrade yearly then why would having an SD slot be essential? Do you fill up that huge internal storage in a year?

Not being an arse, I'm just wondering.

Because I have like 10,000 songs and several movies on it so it's nice to be able to just pop it out of the old phone and into the new one and be ready to go in seconds. Otherwise, I'd have to spend hours getting the files from one phone to the other. It's not that I will fill it up, I agree that there is plenty of storage space. It's just about convenience. I do have Spotify now but I also like to just have a lot of my own music files on my phone. I guess I'm sort of old school that way.

I was upset cause the Ultra 512 didn't come in anything but black and I had plans to get silver. But I'll have a case on it anyway and have come to think the black is pretty with the camera.

Wow! That's funny how we order at the same time. Do you remember back when the S10's came out they had signal problems? We went from unlocked phones and had Sprint to Verizon. Our phones weren't any better with signal mine was the same or a little worse husbands was down right awful and at his work with no Sprint signal he still had no signal it was really bad. They wouldn't give us new phones and said you have to send them back in well that's where I goofed at cause mine wasn't as bad as his. He got a whole new motherboard put in and wow what a difference. He had great signal at work loved his phone and we knew Verizon was so much better than Sprint. I never turned mine it and now I regret it cause I love this phone. But my pictures take forever to send text don't always send he'll have signal and I won't. So I'm glad to be upgrading. I'm constantly going into airplane mode for a bit than back out to get signal. I pray it's better this time around and were doing Verizon over unlocked. But when he has signal and mine says no network connection I know it's my phone.

But yes my husband said 50 bucks more isn't bad we'll get 256 cause of no card slot and he wants to buy some wifi cloud thing with a hard drive for here in the house. I told him the 512 had more ram 16 verses 12 and he says I didn't tell him that and so now were both getting 512. But yes I cancelled from 256 to 512 than accidentally ordered unlocked and wanted Verizon this time.

And I asked Samsung about the 2 trade ins ahead of time and he said as long as we both ordered under our own accounts we should be good. But I didn't know only 2 at a time per household. I think that is why for the S10+ I went to Best Buy and he did Samsung I didn't want to wait and it turned out I had to wait much longer. But it was just 2 of us in one household maybe I was trying under my same account I don't know but it had a hold on one of ours back then. But now we had a watch to trade in and my order is on a temp hold but we sent it back yesterday so I should be good. They said 2 total trade ins per household I don't understand but I hope to get mine at the same time as he does.

I hope you enjoy your new phone. I am just worried about size I have small hands but I will have a popsocket on my case and I hope it's ok. I wanted the purple plus but the specs and camera are so much better on the Ultra and my husband said if we upgrade this is the last time for a while so I wanted the best. I got the violet buds and a pen by itself and the violet silicone case just in case but my other Amazon iblason case is coming next week and they make a cute buds case to match for the Buds Live and I was told the Buds Pro is the same size case I hope so. And than I am getting 2 x 25W chargers cause all we have are old ones from our S10 Plus and from these 2 Dex things we got for free with one of our phones. I may go into BB tomorrow to see if they have Demos on display.

Hopefully we will have no problems with this phone. So you got Brown how long do you have to wait? I liked the Blue but didn't want to wait. So bummed the Ultra didn't come in the Violet. But Ok Sorry I wrote so much. Take Care

Really wow I'm gonna check mine now but my temporary hold may still be there till tomorrow or the next day. I need my husband to check his. I remember on the S10 + I ordered before others and they were getting theirs before me due to me getting the flamingo pink. I finally went with Best Buy and still had to wait. I've heard horror stories of trading in to Samsung and I thought it would be easier to hand it in to Best Buy.
