S21 S21+ S21 Ultra hands-on reviews

Re: S21/+/Ultra hands-on reviews

Heres some Reviews about the Smallest S21. Generally they all say the same thing. The S21 is a tiny upgrade to the S20FE but downgrade in some aspects. Depending on how you use the phone.

Hmm. I opted for the S21 over the Ultra for many reasons but I thought the main cameras were pretty similar? That first article mentions it has "less sharp sensors" than the Ultra which is worrisome. I didn't find anything to confirm this.

The 21 and plus have the 12mp main sensor, the ultra has the 108. I'm not sure how that translates to real world usage.

The cameras on the S21/+ are the same as S20s, Just with some extra software to help make them a little better. If your coming from a s10 and below these s21 will be great.

When they said less sharp, they might be talking about the zoom capabilities. Because the ultra can zoom up to 30x and still have good detail and clarity. But on the s21/+ the zoom is best at up to 10x.

There are some videos that show the S21+ camera in comparison to the Ultra and others. The S21 looked about on par with the Ultra, with relatively small differences.

It looks like the selfie camera is the one that gives the option for natural skin tones? The rear camera portrait mode looked like typical bad Samsung pictures, but the selfie portraits looked better to my eyes.

I know we wanted silver me and my husband. And I went to Best Buy yesterday in the black was nice with a camera. And we got 512 Ultra so we had to do black. But I keep going over the purple plus and how the plus was better for my small hands. But I won't really be able to test it till I get the phone in my case with the PopSocket I guess that'll help. Cuz sometimes on my S10 Plus I just scroll up with my thumb and hold it in one hand. But there was something about that purple plus I did like it. But I know spec-wise and I watch a lot of videos and stuff on my phone so I think I'll be happy with the ultra.

That's what I ordered. Thanks for the pics, its stunning

Something i did notice when i was using all the s21 series. My left hand would always touch the camera bump and sometimes blocked the camera view. But it was less on the smaller s21. On the bigger +/Ultra it happened more because they were bigger it took me more strength/focus/awareness/fumbling to get my fingers in a good position without being in the way.

If you use a grip or popsocket you should be fine.

Gorgeous.

I think I would have chosen this if they offered it in the S21+ 256GB configuration.

Same here. I was seriously Thinking of just getting the 128gb. But looking at my maxed storage of 64gb which i had for 3 years. 128gb would have been full by years end. Just pulled the trigger on the + 256gb.

Same. I went with black. Considered the Phantom Gold for a solid moment, but went with the Black.

What did you end up going with?

The silver looks like a good evolution of the silver S7 edge+. IDK why Samsung limits there good colors to the base model.

like you, i'm bewildered why they did it.

the only answer i can come up with is this: with the base models, they may need fun colors to make them more marketable.

with the top-of-the-line model, they figured that essentially enthusiasts would buy these, and even without interesting colors, we'd just swallow hard, gripe a little, and place our orders ;)
