Which are you using? I started with WQHD+ and am now trying FHD+

Just turned WQHD on today and so far it seems a good bit more brutal on the battery.

Mine is an Exynos phone.

I like lots of detail, so I've used WQHD ever since the Note4. Now I've got 120Hz along with WQHD. Battery life is still great (see my post in the Battery Life thread), but I'm sure it'd last even longer with different settings.

Would have got the S21+ if I didn't want the highest resolution. Highest resolution + 120hz, not setting at lower resolution when I have the option to go higher

Let us know if their is a big difference? I'll probably start off at the WQHD adaptive.

This is what I did....hasn't killed my battery so will leave it. As long as I get home from work with over 40% I am good...usually have around 60%.

Same. I usually charge mine once or twice a day anyway, so the WQHD and adaptive options have been working together really well so far.

I currently use WQHD with adaptive 120hz, but I don't a lot of heavy stuff. Mostly surfing the web while at work, light emailing, chatting with friends, streaming a little music, and watching some YouTube. I ended up with in the 60s% when I got home from work. It seems to work out fine for me if my battery % is normal for what I'm doing.

Didn't buy the S21 Ultra not to use all what it has to offer. Full resolution and 120hz here. Even if it drains battery more the charging is so fast. Not gonna neuter the phone.

WQHD+ all the time. If battery goes down, i have a lot of Super fast chargers to charge my battery up just in a few minutes.

FHD+ 120hz. Frankly, I can't see the difference at WQHD at this size. But I have old eyes.

I remember reading a article back discussing battery savings with FHD vs QHD and basically stated a native FHD panel is much more energy efficient than a QHD panel downscaled to FHD. The battery saving overall was small comparing QHD vs FHD on a QHD panel.

I left 120hz off because I dont like the feel of it.

I just checked and I'm on fHD checked the higher quality setting and didn't see a difference. Must be getting old 😄

This is true. It's not like you can actually disable the extra pixels. Most of the power saving likely comes from the GPU having to do less work.

Full bore, wqhd and 120 adaptive. And the battery life has been fantastic. I'm sure it would be better turning things down but it suits my daily use needs

Well, i am 40, glad that my eyes are fine so far to see a difference between 1080p and 1440p. Will enjoy while i can :)

Just got my s21 ultra and switched to WQHD straight away. seeing how it goes and will decide whether to swap to FHD instead.

Being as this resurfaced, as an update I'm still using WQHD.

It definitely uses more battery. But for my usage, I still make it to the end of the day above 20% and that's all I ask from my battery.

It is nice to have the option to downscale to save power though. I wonder if I could hit 2 days at 720p60...
