Trying my skills (or lack of). Big dipper outside my bedroom window. ISO 3200, F 1.8, shutter 4sec, no editing.

I think I finally did it(partially anyway) ive asked in groups but nobody has answered when I asked if I finally got some od the Milky Way. I could have potentially got more but there is a HUGE hickory tree right smack in the way so these will have to do until I can go somewhere less obstructed.

Hard to capture everything in rhe same settings post editing twice and get the same result. At first I wasn't pleased with these results tonight but they grew on me. I'm thinking if I can get somewhere with limited light pollution and a lower horizon I may get some better results.

My neighbor caught me and thought I was up to something in the dark till I showed him what I was doing lol. Was on my land but for some reason he felt the need to still say something.

Poor bird! How is it doing now?

We sat with him for about 25 minutes until he flew off. He let us pet him, which shows how dazed the poor thing was. But he did finally recover and flew away.
