S22 Ultra Case Marks

In continuation to my previous thread, I’m also noticing a couple of other weird things with my burgundy ultra.

If I look at the bottom of my phone straight, it seems pretty scratchless. Refer photo 1 in the attachments.

But the moment I move it around to an angle in a slightly bright light - I notice some sort of case markings. Other photos attached.

These are pretty visible if I wipe it with a micro fibre and look at it at an angle.

Can anyone else please try and see if it’s the same on their phone? I’m not sure if the burgundy colour makes it more apparent.

Do these spots wipe off or are they permeant?

I'll check my phone in a while a report back.

I received my Burgundy S22U during pre-order season this year. Applied a screen protector & put on a heavy-duty case. I take the case off once a month to clean out the dust with a microfiber cloth.

On a recent camping trip, it flipped out of my hand & I watched in horror as it bounced down 5 metal steps & landed in gravel.

I took off my case today to see if I had any marks resembling yours, but my S22U miraculously has no marks or scratches.

I think that the fact that it takes me about 5 minutes to get the case off, (so I don't unless I need to), is helping on surface wear & tear.

From the pattern in the pic, it looks like you have whatever debris getting underneath the case and it's rubbing away/pittiing at the finish. Loose case? Poor paint/finish?

If it looks practically unnoticeable like the first pic, I'd get clear protector for the metal areas to reduce the wear.

Of course it doesn't affect performance and only cosmetic. But my concern is how it will affect trade-in value when comes time to use for trade-in?? Other thread where the aluminum seems and can get dinged even with case on... how will Samsung value the phone come trade-in? :-\

It doesn’t wipe off at all. Tried some alcohol wipes too

Mine looks fine and it has been in and out of dozens of cases since I got it. Tried to get a pic but it was difficult.

Looks good! Weird thing with mine is if I just wipe it with my finger then I can’t see the marks. But when I wipe with a micro fibre. It becomes apparent in direct light. I guess the oil from my fingers covers it up well lol
