I bought a so called brand new in box S22 Ultra from Ebay last year and didn't find out till the return date expired that the dang phone can't be updated. When you check it says that the phone is updated, but it's UI 6.0 and Android 14. Tried bringing it to a shop and they tried using a program to manually update it, but even that didn't work. Not sure what to do at this point, either get it to update or trade it in for a new phone. Any help would be appreciated.

Try method 2 and if not able then method 3

Method 2: The "Official" PC Update (Smart Switch)
If your phone won't find the update over Wi-Fi, Samsung’s Smart Switch desktop app is the safest way to "pull" the update from Samsung's servers.
Download and install Samsung Smart Switch on your Windows PC or Mac.
Connect your S22 Ultra to the computer via a high-quality USB cable.
Open Smart Switch. If an update is available for your specific model and region, an Update button will appear right on the home screen.
Click Update and wait. Your phone will reboot into a download screen; do not disconnect the cable until the phone fully reboots back to your lock screen

Method 3: The "Hard" Manual Update (Odin)
Warning: This is for advanced users. It involves manually flashing firmware files. Doing this incorrectly can brick your device or wipe your data.
If your carrier is blocking an update or you are stuck on an old build, you can use a tool called Odin.
Find your exact model number: Go to Settings > About Phone (e.g., SM-S908U or SM-S908B).
Download Firmware: Use a reputable site like SamFw or Frija to download the latest firmware for your specific model and CSC (region code).
Get Odin: Download the latest version of the Odin flashing tool.
Flash the files:
Put your phone in Download Mode (Power off, then hold Volume Up + Volume Down while plugging it into your PC).
In Odin, load the files into their respective slots: BL, AP, CP, and CSC.
Crucial Tip: Use the HOME_CSC file instead of the standard CSC file if you want to keep your data. Using the standard CSC file will factory reset the phone.
Click Start and wait for the "PASS" message.
Before you start:
Battery: Ensure you have at least 50% charge.
Backup: Always back up your photos and messages to Google Drive or Smart Switch before a manual flash.

The shop i brought it to tried the Smart Switch program on their PC and couldn't get it to work.
My model name is SM-S908U
If i try the Odin option I'll need to find a shop that can do it in my area which is Keene NH.
