S22 Ultra - paint chips and dust marks

I’m not quite sure how common this is but no better place than this to get fellow owners to chime in. I’ve noticed a small paint on the camera rim. Photo attached. Also I noticed that there seems to be some sort of dust marks on the bottom of the phone. Not sure if this is expected and just normal wear and tear. Could you guys give your camera lens rims a quick look and the bottom of the phone in the some sort of direct light?

Probably wear and tear , sometimes with cases dirt can get trapped then having in a pocket maybe nicks it , i left the thin layer of plastic around the frame for extra protection

Yeah that makes sense. On other boards a lot of users don’t seem to notice it at all. But when they post photos it’s right there. So it leads me to believe it’s much more common.

I just took the case off mine and took a look. I don't have any of those chips, but mine is white, so I got the chrome at the bottom, not matching color like yours with the burgundy. My camera lenses don't have any chips around the edges either, but I am in a pretty controlled environment at home mostly.

Nothing on my camera and nothing on my bottom because I still have the plastic on at the bottom.

Can you post a photo of the bottom and the lens? I imagine black would show it too like burgundy unlike the white ones which might hide it well

The camera rings seem great! But the bottom photo is blurry to tell. Thanks for posting though! Really appreciate it

That’s why I kept the clear protectors on mt phone.

I read of a few mentions by people of chipped paint on frame and around camera bezels too. That’s also why I stuck with Phantom White. I like the Space Grey and matte black and considered it when the White was a little longer wait time. But the white is my favorite. Besides being the best color of the bunch, I prefer the polished aluminum frame.

I pocket carry my phone every day and the LaterCase isn’t full coverage like the Pitaka but even with the N20U with same case and no clear film I never had any scuffs with the polished aluminum. And it provides excellent camera port protection.

Decided to take case off mine too since others were sharing. I was curious to see if the LaterCase was going to have a buildup of dust under the case…

First pic cover off as-is… Case has been only at least last 2-3 months. Barely any dust to see. Wiped down in second pic and bezels look good. Didn’t even remember I have the side clear protectors on until seeing the pic. Overall happy with the LaterCase. I think the carbon fiber adds a bit of rigidity in that if I did drop it, the carbon fiber won’t flex in the corners to allow any denting. But hope I never find out if true.

Offff that dropped is brutal. The paint on my rim is driving me crazy.

I have no idea what I did. I'm assuming I dropped it or it fell . My phone is always in a case.

I worry about removing the ESR camera protectors I have on the lenses. Hopefully they won't peel off any of the paint around the cameras.
