S24+ from S21 Ultra?

Hello, Android fans. I've been using the S21 Ultra for years now. I've wanted to upgrade at some point. However, the prices for an Ultra style device now are ridiculous.
There are, however, a few things to "note" for me personally when considering upgrading. I like that the S21 Ultra is not geared towards the Note line. I do enjoy the fact that it however has S-pen capabilities. However, having the S-pen on hand is not something I need or care about.

So for someone like me, having a Note-like device for my main device isn't something I really need or prefer honestly. Sadly, in recent years, Samsung has nerfed a lot of the specs on all non-ultra phones. It seems like the S24+ is the first non-ultra device they've made in a long time that is starting to come back to par with specs we used to have.

That said, I like the idea of having a device that's similar to the S21 Ultra in form factor (Not Note-esque like the S22U, S23U, S24U) but with things like QHD display, 12GB of RAM, and a nearly 5000maH battery. 4900 is pretty close, obviously.

I am wondering if on paper the S24+ would be a good upgrade for me? The main thing is for me the lack of the whole specced out camera setup like the ultra's have, though. I suppose if it takes good pictures, that's all that really matters, though.

I was looking at an S23+ too, but doesn't seem to be quite on par with what I want.

Reportedly, the Plus line ends with the S25+. Next year, the Edge will take its place. (again, from what I've read) Since you seem to hold on to devices for years, is there any reason not to grab the S25+ and ride with that for a while?

Yeah, the price. 700 dollars is what it would cost me from Samsung currently if I traded in my S21 Ultra, which I don't want to do. I'd rather keep it around as a backup.

Unfortunately, the other device I have for trade in, the Note 20 Ultra, Samsung is only offering 100 dollars for. Yeah, way too much for me. Like I said, I could get an S24+ for around 550 from Samsung's "re-newed" line, but still, I feel like that's also a lot. Perhaps I'll wait until Samsung has some better promo sales. They have occasionally gone up to 350 off trade in with any device.

The S24+ and S25+ on paper seem to be basically the same, from what I can tell, processor aside and all. And seriously? The plus models are going away. Come on, Samsung...

I looked at Swappa for a used S24+ and several are below $400. I've had great luck on there. Maybe explore that?!

No. I don't order devices from Swappa. I've had bad luck on there and had phones with issues. When the price goes down on Samsung, I'll order one from them.
