Guys, I have to toggle off my WiFi when I hit the house as it lags badly if using my WiFi.. I have a 1 Gig Service via Virgin, there's only me and no one else uses my WiFi.. I only have 1 Firestick also..

This was a replacement phone as I dropped my Last S25..that had exactly the same issue...from new it seems to work brilliant for the first few months then this nightmare lag kicks in.

Ive tried clearing my YT cache, no difference...if I want to browse or jump onto YT for example the lag is maddening.

What can I do to "free up" my phone from this.. sorry I'm not very technical, so any advice would be really appreciated.

Cheers

Stu

Have you tried rebooting the wi-fi router? Just power it off for a few seconds then power it on again. It will then take a minute or two to establish its internet connection and set up the wi-fi network before the phone will reconnect.

Are you sure the phone is connecting to your wi-fi connection and not to a neighbour's?

Final thought is this: around the time the original phone stopped have a good connection did you starting using some other electrical device such as a microwave oven or a new TV or new security system (Ring bell perhaps?). Try turning off everything you can and see if that makes a difference.

Final, final thought: Go into the router settings and see what options there are for changing the channel number it is using for wi-fi. There may be an option for it to auto-select a channel which it finds does not conflict with usage by other devices.

Have you tried testing your S25 connecting to a different WiFi, like at a Starbucks or a local library? That might help determine if the issue is with your phone or your home WiFi router. Just a suggestion...

The scary part about resetting a wifi, especially over a mobile issue. Is if it is being caused by Malware, or a live attack they purposely hit you with a death, or wait to capture the handshake when you restart your router. This should be the very last step,. Most the time, you should begin with a simple Arp command to test your network to determine if it is your connection or another issue.
