S3 Device name

When I bought the phone the device name was its telephone number, since then I have move the device onto my old my old number and thought the divice name would change as well, but it has not. How do I change the device name if possible?

Where in the Settings or on the phone do you see something like: Device Name = Phone Number?

in the Samsung software KIes up at the top next to the picture of the phone.

The screenshot is helpful. I'm not sure if the device name can be changed as it may be baked into the phones firmware or similar component level. One analogy that may help is to think of your phones device name as fixed like your home address. I could be wrong here but changing the name may be a deep technical operation.

Just to be sure, I tried it with my phone and Kies. Wasn't able to change the name. Good idea though.

go to settings, bluetooth, then press menu one of the options is change device name.
