I don't like the results of this. Especially considering the glass is bonded to the frame of the phone. That would make this repair a pain in the ass as well as expensive.

Oh man. Both phones went through so much brutality haha

But honestly, if you have a case that peaks around and covers a bit of the screen, then there's a higher chance that once your phone makes contact with the ground, it won't be as affected by the impact as a phone without anything on.

This still doesn't affect my decision in getting the Samsung. Although, it'll be hard to say goodbye to my iPhone :P

Well the S3 rocks - and this is from an Apple freak. Sold my 4S this week and picked up an S3. Light years ahead. Watch your back Apple!

My only debate is choosing either the Nexus or the S3. The S3 definitely has some nice specs, but the Nexus is one sexy phone. Also, I'm trying to move away from the physical "home" button--too much hassle over long periods of usage.

This. I have one of those $3 Chinese hard-shell cases on my Incredible, which adds just a little lip above the screen. I've drunkenly dropped the phone on its face from five feet up onto concrete, and can't even see damage to the case, much less the phone.

Long story short, if you're going to buy a $700 superphone, skip the insurance plan and the $50 Otterbox, and just get an Amazon case.

A Nokia Lumia 900 would take a drop from a 10-storey building and walk off unscathed lol.
#GS3-4eva.. #justsayin

I agree about the fact that doing drop tests like these are bogus. And besides, this is what cases are for aren't they? Since ALL smart phones have glass screens, Gorilla or otherwise, they will break doing a test like this.. She should have done the same thing with a bunch of other phones, and you can be sure the results would be identical.. As to the Lumia 900, it might survive, but then it runs Windows which last time I checked, was not open source, LOL.

I don't think having a teenage girl perform these tests is very authentic, most people don't drop their phone on the sidewalk unless they are being a dope anyway I've only dropped mine in my house when my dog ran across the charger cord.
My suggestion is for phone makers to include a hole for a wrist strap for all you accident prone people out there.

I'm more so bummed about the way the glass is one with the frame then the results of the drop test I guess. But I agree with the case posts. The day I buy a phone it instantly enters an Otterbox. So I highly doubt I'll ever be experiencing this. Just thought I'd post it up for all the people who like to run naked.

That video makes me cringe. I can watch brand new cars being crash tested all day long, but people drop testing/scratch testing $200 smart phones are more painful to watch.

I'm kinda scared coming from a tbolt which ive dropped plenty of times with no screen cracks, looks like I'm getting my first case for a phone

I'm wonderingnwhen they'll come out with LifeProof cases for other devices. And also mophie cases for other devices. They would go perfect with a GS3
