S3 Micro SD cards

where did u buy yours from?

I ordered the 32GB one from Amazon for $30, they are on back order, but should ship shortly. Actually, just checked, it shipped! However, backorder for anyone placing a new order.

I'm new to this forum. Thanks for all the helpful information. I just got a new Verizon Galaxy S3, traded up from a Droid X finally. I'm trying to decide which Micro Sd card to buy and I've read a lot of the posts regarding 64GB cards being class 6 or Class 10. Here's a link directly to the SanDisk website. I hope it works. Unless I'm reading something wrong, it appears that they think it is a Class 10 card.
SanDisk Ultra microSDHC and microSDXCUHS-I Memory Card by SanDisk
The only difference I can see between the different cards on their website is form factor and of course price for the Ultra. I do agree that there appears to be a lot of confusion on seller websites as to what Class the cards are. If you look closely, the Class 10 card on Sandisk's site has slightly different markings than the Class 6 card on most reseller sites.
That being said, does anyone have an opinion as to what form factor is compatible with the S3 and/or which is better?

I am also looking at microSDXC cards. 64GB Class 10 are the only ones I am looking for.

There are only three MicroSDXC 64GB cards I have seen so far.

SanDisk 64GB Class 10
SanDisk 64GB Class 6
Team Group 64GB Class 10 ~ R/ 40MB/s W/ 10MB/s Max (IOPS R/500 W/150)

I plan on waiting until Samsung releases their own 64GB microSD card with 20
~ Read and Write Speeds.

Anyone who is looking for 16GB and 8GB cards these cards have nice speed ratings at B&H Photo Video Webstore.

Samsung 16GB microSDHC Memory Card Plus Series Class 10 ~ R/ 24MB/s W/ 21MB/s ~ $19.95
Samsung 8GB microSDHC Memory Card Plus Series Class 10 ~ R/ 24MB/s W/ 21MB/s ~ $11.95
Samsung 32GB microSDHC Memory Card High Speed Series Class 10 ~ R/ 24MB/s W/ 13MB/s ~ $29.95

It won't work because that is a SDXC. You need a microSD, but the item you linked to is a normal SD card.

After looking at some microSD Benchmarks from Tomshardware there is one particular card that preforms nicely in all benchmarks.

SanDisk Extreme Pro microSDHC UHS-I (16GB, UHS-I)
SDSDQXP-016G

Sequential Read : 22.85 MB/s
Sequential Write : 21.60 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 21.75 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 3.83 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 2.64 MB/s
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 1.48 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 2.49 MB/s
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 1.37 MB/s

It would be a good for people who boot their operating system from the sd card.

No wonder it's $99.99 on bestbuy

SanDisk 32gb class 4 here. Don't see the point in spending money on a class 10 for a phone.

FWIW, the link is incorrect. It's the class 10 32GB SanDisk that is on sale for $25, not the class 6.

I picked one up at the store a little while ago. They don't carry the class 6 if you do in-store pickup.

Are you sure? The description says it's class 6, but there's no way to tell by just the sd card as there is no class marking. I don't think Best Buy knows which speed class it is. In the specifications it says Write Speeds 21-40 which is unbelievable. It could be a online sale only.

I got the class 10 Team card...

Team 32GB Micro SDHC Flash Card Model TG032G0MC28A

...from newegg.com for $21.99 a month ago. (26.99 minus $5 instant savings and free shipping) And it is working great. I've already got this one full of music, so when prices come down, I'll likely move up to a 64.

Picked up a Sandisk 32 gb Class 10 card at Best Buy today for $29.99 + tax. It's on sale this week in the stores.

Sorry, didn't see the reply and it's probably a moot point now, but I am 100% sure it was the class 10 card that I got. I bought that one that said class 6 and did in store pick-up. The one I picked up was the class 10.

On another note, is there a way to get notified if someone quotes you in a thread you posted in or to see new posts in threads you've posted in? I find that I have to manually scroll through topics I've posted in to see if there are new comments.

Team Data 32GB, class 10, $25 when I got it (now its $28)

Newegg.com - Team 32GB Micro SDHC Flash Card Model TG032G0MC28A

Always worked great for me. Very few complaints about it in feedback. I have a bunch of their memory products, but nothing less than C10. There was one complaint about speed, but I suspect that it was their device. Very few RMA reviews as well, compared to other SD cards.
