s3 mini charging icon issue

hi
my phone battery icon suddenly shows charging while it is not attached to charger !! then after a while it shows not charging (again not attached to charger) this happens frequently
when i attach the charger it shows charging normally then when i disconnect the charger the charging icon continues for some time ( may be few minutes before disappearance)

i tried restoring the mobile with no benefit

any help

Welcome to Android Central! Check the microUSB port and make sure there isn't any debris stuck in there.
