Hey everyone!

So a relative of mine got an S3 Mini VE, and I'm the lucky person to set it up. Out of the box, it received an update, no biggy... However, I've been searching like a crazy person to find the darn setting so I can enable the battery percentage indicator (you know, the one Samsung phones always have). I have searched in Display Settings, nothing. I have searched in the Battery Monitor section, nothing. I have searched in Accessibility Settings, nothing.

Anyone else found this settings by chance? I want to avoid installing a battery indicator app because:
1. Malware, I don't really trust these apps too well when it comes to system management (looking at you registry cleaners).
2. It will cause battery drain.

If the setting is indeed missing, I'll either consider flashing a different stock firmware, or download an indicator app (if it ends up there, anyone got a good trustworthy app?)

Phone Deets:
Model: GT-I8200
Firmware: I8200XXUANF1
Country: South Africa

Thanks in advance!

Although it does vary by carrier (for no obvious reason) there usually seems to be a checkbox in the Battery view that provides that option.

(You did scroll all the way to the bottom, right?)

There are several trustworthy battery apps in the Google Play Store, and I usually have one (or more) installed without any noticeable battery-related drain:

Battery Monitor Widget http://market.android.com/details?id=ccc71.bmw

BatteryCalibration http://market.android.com/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration (only useful on a rooted device)

BetterBatteryStats http://market.android.com/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats

GSam Battery Monitor Pro http://market.android.com/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm.pro

SystemPanel http://market.android.com/details?id=nextapp.systempanel.r1

Wakelock Detector http://market.android.com/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector

One of those should provide a Status bar percentage if for some reason the OS no longer includes it. That would be more preferable than flashing different firmware.

Ah thanks for the mentions..

Yes, I have scrolled down to the bottom in the battery monitor. I might just consider flashing it anyway since it's kind of stupid that a carrier won't include this feature...
