s3 movie to tv

Bought a 4xmhls3 from walmart MHL TO HDMI adapter for phone to tv fir my galaxy s3. No instructions in box. Have emailed them 3x. Tried hooking up, no go. Any help appreciated....

I purchased the official Samsung MHLHDMI adapter and still had to use a very short (6') HDMI cable or it wouldn't work. YMMV.
