S3 water damaged. Help?

So I had my phone charging on my nightstand last night and my cup of water on the nightstand as usual. I woke up in the morning to my phones alarm, didnt notice water on it yet until I couldnt turn of the alarm due to the touchscreen not responding. I immediately tried to turn off the phone but instead of turning off the phone it restarted( really hope it didnt short circuit anywhere ) So to turn it off I took off my otter box and took the battery out, there wasnt much or any water in where the batter is but there was water around the sim cards and the rest of the phone. It is in a sealed container right now with rice. I heard that the touchscreen is easily damaged with water though and was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on how to better save it or if I have any hope at all.

Re: S3 water damage help

Hello,

Lots of luck will hopefully be on your side. Leave it in that bowl of rice for a good 24 hours at least.

You are correct the display/digitizer is a common area of concern/failure with water damage and its one of the more expensive parts to replace in a device.

I wish you good luck on this.
