S4 Battery Dying Early

My S4 dies even when it's still at 20%. Sometimes it warns me that battery is low and goes till 1%. But sometimes it just shuts down right away at 20% without warning - not a restart cause I can't turn it back on without charging. Please shed some light on this.

Sounds like you are yet another user with a bad battery. Get it replaced as soon as you can. At this rate, Samsung needs to acknowledge something is possibly wrong with their S4 batteries.

I agree, people are noticing theres a large number of faulty units going back with battery issues.

Same problem... I'm from the Philippines living in one of the provinces ravaged by the typhoon Nari recently. I am pretty pissed since it's so hard to find stuff here where I live. I don't even know if I'll be able to find a replacement battery. My S4 is just two months old. This sucks because during two years I stuck with HTC, I have not experienced these problems... And just when I need my phone to work most since we have no power, no water, and no working phone lines...

P. S. I factory reset my phone the other night hoping it was just a software problem... Something with a rogue app. Didn't work of course. So frustrated!

Not just s4. My galaxy core too. That's why I am here looking for solutions but looks like I failed :/

my phone just died so i changed the battery and it started working again then i noticed it kept dying around 20% so I'm not to sure if its a app or just bad luck with another faulty battery

I recently had the same issue with my S4 and I came across a very cheap but effective fix. There is an app on the play store called "Real Battery" that scales your battery level down to the percentage it dies it. My phone kept dying at 30% so I set the indicator to 30% and it scaled my battery level so that 30% is my new 0%. It lets you know more accurately when your phone is about to die, so that you won't be fooled when your phone says it has charge. Check it out, its called Real Battery.
