S4 burnt while charging..

S4 burned while it was charging via cable to wall outlet. Cable and charger came with the box and I found out in the morning that the battery didn't charge and there was a burning smell. Since my T-mobile warranty was over (1yr) I called Samsung and got a 1 time free repair on my current device.

Sucks that I wont receive a replacement, considering everything that happened was out of my control and was due to Samsung's equipment. Didn't know that this was pretty common as I spoke to the T-mobile rep, and definitely put a sour taste in my mouth for Samsung, and my next phone.

Welcome to Android Central! That's a bummer. I wonder if plugging into a surge protector might have prevented it, or if there's some intrinsic problem with the charger itself. Anyway, monitor the phone closely when you get it back--if it acts up, I'd bug Samsung for a replacement then.
