S4: Earphone problems

Hi. I recently bought the Samsung Galaxy S4, it was working fine up till last week and now when I plug in my earphones to listen to music it makes a crackling noise. At first I thought it may be the earphones but tried a few different pairs and still have the same problem. Does anyone know why this is or have any idea how to fix it?

Welcome to Android Central! It's always possible that the headphone jack could be failing. But first, make sure there isn't any debris trapped in the jack. Use a damp toothpick to root around, or use a can of compressed air to blow it out.
