S4 keeps unlocking randomly by itself

Hi there okay im new to this forum and i have a Samsung Galaxy S4

Every now and then my phone decides to unlock itself. I have no idea why it happens when my phone is in my pocket ..on the table next to me and ervything else. it is very irritating any help on would greatly be appreciated thank you.I have tried different lock methods...Light..Ripple...None this doesnt change anything i have disable all airview air gesture and all that stuff but still nothing

You're not alone. It happens to me as well. Too annoying. Gave it to Samsung service center. They said it was some software that was causing it and erased the phone. Didn't change anything and it started happening again the same day. Please let me know if u get a solution for this its bugging me a lot

I have found the solution after experiencing a similar problem myself. What happened is the phone thinks it has the s view cover on. When there is a change in light setting it thinks the s view cover was opened so it unlock the phone for you. To disable this feature you would go to Settings > Accesory > unchecked Automatic unlock.

This was 13 years ago so it would be kinda hard to try helping when most people moved past this device due to the age

Ive went back to an app I installed before the bug started happening. I just had to uninstall SHAREit and after 2 reboots and about 40 locks/unlocks I couldnt reproduce the bug. So I guess some apps just mess with the lock screen.

Glad u found the issue and yes some do affect the lock screen but it's harder to determine on an outdated phone that doesn't get supported anymore software wise or apps .
