S4 MMS messages showing future timestamp

AC Question

My Mom has a Galaxy S4. Any MMS (image) text message she receives shows a received time that is two days in the future. Only MMS messages do this. Regular text messages show correct timestamps. This results in the images showing as the "most recent" message until after the future date has passed. For example - today is June 17. I sent my mom a picture and the timestamp on her phone when she received it says Monday June 19th, 8am.

I have tried the "automatic time" on and off fixes for timestamp problems but issue persists.

My sister had an issue with the time stamp showing as one day in the past on her GS4 2 years ago. Like she received it yesterday but it was a text or mms sent that same day.

I never found the culprit and the only fix was by doing a factory reset.
Have you already cleared the cache?

If you decide to do a factory reset, I suggest that you save/backup all your data from that phone before.
