S4 native app problems

I have been using the native app with MS Exchange for my Google Apps account for about 2 weeks now without any issues. Yesterday the emails became problematic and unresponsive. I could open the app but the emails would rarely be displayed and when they did it I couldn't delete them. I had problems removing the account as the desktop icon would display 2505 emails but only open to a white screen. Has anyone else had this issue?
