is it normal for the home button (physical button below the screen) on the Galaxy S5 to make a clicking sound when pressed? I find mine is quite audible. Its only a two week old phone.

Its a slightly louder clicking than the vol. & power buttons.

Also, pressing the home button from either side makes a softer click than pressing it from the middle.

I got a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and my home button makes a clicking sound when pressed. I don't think it's a problem :)

I guess mine clicks but it's not audible from any normal distance unless I'm in an EXTREMELY quiet room. The power and volume buttons are much louder.

Turn it off and dampen your finger with some rubbing alcohol. Then pad the edges of the button and it will go away. I did it and it is perfect now.

Posted via Android Central App on my Samsung Galaxy S5, please excuse the brevity.

you must have good ears, I have never heard any of the buttons make a noise of any kind.

I can feel the tactile 'click' but not audible.

If it's loud and feels off then you might want to have it checked. Also, try using a demo at a carrier store and see if it's the same or not. Let us know how it goes and what you end up doing.
