S5 Screen is flickering and freezing up, how can I fix this?

Booked in at Samsung Smart Care Centre at own cost to drive 305+ Km and toll-fees and after 2 days received back only to find the exact same problem not fixed. Now probably just have to wait 7 month till my next upgrade. Shame on Samsung service.

I fixed it! After 3 weeks with the same problem, I disabled the hardware overlay on developers options and the problem with the crazy screen stop. However the option back to default after 24 hours and you will use more your GPU, but if you want to use your S5, that's the way.

Yes! I turned off developer options then screen stopped flickering in low light.

Open developer options. I stopped an odd process, not on the regular settings, I don't recall the name it disappeared afterward, but so did the flicker and freeze.
