Hey all,

I was watching a home brewing video yesterday and it froze, then the screen split with some random pic, then the screen went black/blank. Couldn't turn it back on, wouldn't power off or reset, nothing

20 mins later the batter was very warm, leaning to hot. Kept playing with the power button and then finally I got the Power Off/Reset screen, selected power off. Took about 3 mins to shut down

After I powered it back up, battery was down 25% and it seems to be running fine now

Stock S6
Verizon
Current on all patches/apps
Nova launcher is the only outlier app, no battery apps...
Only had Simple Text and MyFitnessPal apps running at the time of watching the video

Any others experince stuff like this?

Hope this doesn't keep up
Rick

Does it run good now? Maybe its just an error and a normal restart will be enough.

It may relate to your issue, myfitnesspal app has been extremely buggy on my note 4 and my wife's LG G4 for the last week.. Under armour confirmed that they were having server issues (friday 12/8/16)

I had this happen last night. I was reading articles from my Google news feed and one website it took me to when i clicked on an article had some pop-ups that took over and wouldnt let me back out. I finally got out but then my phone went black. After holding down the power button for a while my home screen showed up but was completely unresponsive. Holding down the power button again would not give me a restart or shut down option.
Finally went to the boot screen (held down power button and volume down button) and looked for recovery mode to do a cache partion wipe. There was no option for recovery mode! What's up with that Samsung? Anyway, chose safe mode and looked around my phone from there. Deleted a couple of apps, but really couldn't find the problem. However when I came out of safe mode all was right again. Still don't know why or what for sure, but relieved that worked anyway.

i believe recovery mode is power and volume up

Power button and volume down took me to the boot screen. You have a list of options there but recovery isn't one of them. It was there on every Moto phone I've had. Would recovery be elsewhere then on Samsung phones? Gonna try that .

Tried.......power and volume up didn't do anything. Did power and volume down again to check that I didn't just miss it the other night because I was stressed out and nope, recovery is not there.

Did this and the Andy Bot came up and said installing system update, then he fell over and the caution symbol with exclamation mark came up....then recovery menu came up. Tried it again to see if i really was getting an update, but Andy crashed over again. Lol! But did get me to recovery screen, so thank you! Now I know I can get there when needed.
I do wonder why Samsung separates it this way.
