S6 edge overheating notice

I have my s6 edge for almost 2 weeks now and this morning, while i was watching youtube i got a notice about the fact that batery is overheated and all my apps will be closed. I sad ok. After that, nothing could be runned on my phone because that notice appears everytime i try to open something. It shut down by itself to protect the batery, i left it like this for 10 minutes and it still got that notice, then it shot again and i left it for 2 hours and it still got that notice. Now the battery is drain out, i charged it but it says that the charging is stopped due to high temperature in batery.
What could be done?

P.S.: The soft is up to date

If my two week old phone did this, I would take it to the carrier, or better yet, if you have a Samsung store if not in the USA.

Re: S6 edge overheating notice

I would do a factory data reset, and don't install any apps. If the message continues to appear then you should contact the carrier or Samsung or the place of purchase. If in the usa, most places allow returns /exchanges within 14 days. Otherwise you would be stuck going through the warranty process.
