actually, gsmarena rating includes standby performance. Good video/web/talk can surely has bad standby. Since most people's phone spend lot of time in standby, this perhaps is the most significant thing gsmsarena considers that nobody else test.

In my judgement, gsmarena is the only one I fully trust.

Of course, Sammy still have time to push out 0 day updates to fix s6's standby performance, which I suspect is bad and respincible for soso overall battery life right now.

Then honestly do you believe S4 would last longer than G3 because they say so? I don't think any G3 owner would agree with that. And this is just one example from their list that seems not in line with reality.

until you or I own both devices, we honestly cannot judge, and I don't believe g3 owners should judge neither. Just because they love what they have, doesn't mean they have the right to dispute the test results.

Amoled screen always has excellent video play back time, there is really nothing to be surprised about.

BTW, the rating of g3 is higher than s4 last time I checked.

Check it again. S4 is rated higher than G3 on endurance rating right now.

There are many G3 users upgraded from S4 and they are seeing better battery life than S4 mostly on many forums including AC. That has nothing to do with loving it.

I'm not saying GSMarena tool is totally useless. Clearly a phone with twice higher rating is definitely better. But for phones with close ratings, it often doesn't reflect reality well.

I certainly understand their "feeling", which is quite easy to explain. A one year old battery that was degraded 10-30% of it battery capacity, a one year old operating system that got filled with junks, I bet they would feel a better battery life even if they "upgrade" to a brand spanking new S4. btw, for your reading interest, here is my documentation of battery degrading process over 14 months ( http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...ttery-calibration-history-your-reference.html ).

G3 endurance rating dropped, mainly due to LG's foolishness in pushing out Lollipop so quickly and get burned by Google. HTC got spanked by this update too, it seems only line that get better battery life from this update is sammy smartphone family.

Everything that we have heard or read and have been discussing is based on preliminary reviews or first impressions. We need to take a step back and wait for reviews closer to go live. The GS6 is going to impress most of us and definitely won't bomb. Once we have these reviews and some first hand testing in the stores, we can offer more informed opinions and decide to purchase or pass.
