S7 and Gear VR Overheating?

After using the Samsung VR with my S7 edge for about 15--20 mins, the onscreen message pops up , telling me the phone has overhead and to cease using it until it cools down.
I nevermore was able to use my VR for longer 10 or so minites at a time....
I therefore returned my VR unit to BestBuy for my money back thlugh o love the VR idea and experience...

Having heating problems with my Galaxy 7 when i plug it into my new VR Gear. Is this normal. My phone is only a month old and has worked perfectly before I attached the VR Gear for the first time tonight. Am I missing an installation step. The VR Gear seemed to work fine.

My new VR Gear is also making my Galaxy 7 run very hot, Is there a fix available?

The only things you can do is to plug the GearVR into a charger, and or, run cardboard VR apps.
When it does heat up, put the phone on a freezer gel pack to cool down.

Sounds like a great way to crack the glass back or screen

I cooled mine off several times one evening. Put a towel between the phone and gel pack.

I have noticed from day 1 a slight overheat nothing outta the ordinary. I had some apps there was no need for ex: cm security and the sweep ext, but today its doing 2 weird things. I got the message 2 times to basically take my phone off the VR GEAR the cpu was overheating. Omg it was hot.

The other thing i noticed n this was way b4 the cpu notices. When i put my phone into the VT GEAR its not fliping over to wide screen mode i guess thats the best way to explain it. Ive tried a reset nope. I even tried to go threw the app still was veiwing it in wrong direction. So i went 2 my last resort o noticed showing my friends kids i went to the coaster ride n hit the person with goggles on it worked. Not for long. Ive spent a gud hr searching for a solution or mayb some1 is having the same problem n they gotta answer. Mine new s7 is about 2 wks or so old. I noticed a scratch from day 1 everyone tells me its dirt but u cant feel it until today idc i just want this VR 2 work properly so if any1 has a trick onto how to connect the phone the right way if im doing that mayb wrong. Idk but u see me here so tjat means i really need help. Is it the gear or my GS7...any info will help kindly appreciate just u sitting thier and reading all this srry i know i can write a gud out and ty...

I agree on over it had it a wk. Starred @ it for mayb 4 days like the fon wanted 2 wait till xmas i got screwed on waiting 2 use the hada set ut up 2 get that IMIEI # so ive been using it great fon except i knew that was a paperline scratch u couldnt even feel ut with ur finger or nails, well u can now. Every1 n all them vids u seebr BULL they ppl r acting i played that same coaster was the 1st 1 i found did nothin 4 me ok the six flags 2 coasters were ok but to sit up looking dwn is ridiculous but the ride tjat was better but it loosing where the fron of u is wrong ima fall off my bed 1 day just dnt like its not starting up like i know how 2 n have 2 play with it so much u done forget how u fixed it n also they need to tell u if thats really the hole ride in 00:53 second i kinda have a mixed feeling about that like its just another demo...

I think its the phone ive had my new s7 for 2 wks i called day 1 bcuz on its 1st charge n update it was burning hot. They told me 2 go 2 samsung repairs im in Florida thier in NY California and Texas i believe then the idiots told me they would send me a new battery that was the issue. I hada call bck and i asked this is a s7 how am i going to replace a internal battery they told me to go to best buy the moron said no worries not the fon that blows up i told him if it does "greg" ima make sure my parents sue u personally my carrier even sent me thier. But i was told it does get a bit hot on the VR bcuz of the processor is running hard, but not burning hot im playing 2 go bck to that guy after i get a reference # n make him fix it or replace i hope 4 a replace bcuz every1 thought it was dirt but its a nice haur like scratch buy in stores ppl wen i buy from stores site something always goes wrong...
