S7 and Google Messenger instead of Messages?

Re: S7 and Google Messenger instead of Messages

But it's not as seemless with my s2. It does the job though
Textra is very seamless with the s2. I also love Google messenger but it doesn't play as nice with the s2. For instance, MMS picture messages don't show on the s2. It comes through but says "picture"

On Textra the picture shows on the s2. Even if you get multiple messages from the same person it displays the multiple messages in one view. I like that feature a lot.

Thanks for this. Just switched to Textra. I have an S3 and it seemed like every app had some drawback. Don't see any with Textra.

Look in settings under notifications and make sure it is all enabled, Also double check that GM/AM is set as the defualt app first!

Three things I want Google/Android Messages to adopt from the likes of Samsung Messenger is the Favorites/Most used contacts that can be scrolled through sideways at the top with images, More support to use media from the phone apps (not just camera, gallery and new audio) like memo, s note, Google Maps and so on so we do not have to try and cut and paste the media, as well as being to selected pre-recorded audio and/or video as currently it only allows us to add new stuff we record while using the app nothing older!

Some other stuff I would like is the ability to set indiviual wallpapers for each contact and be able to select background colour/'s and visability/transparancy I kinda like the transparent background look you get with the pop up response to Google SMS's (Neon Browser by Opera does somthing similar in allowing you to see the desktop background or whatever else is open on the screen!)
