S7 edge fingerprint unlock

Hi all. New S7 edge user here. I setup my fingerprint to unlock the phone yet when i click to wake it up it isn't asking me to authenticate via fingerprint. It just says "swipe to unlock". What am I missing?

Never mind. I think it may be the "secured lock time" which defaults to 10 minutes which i assume gives you a 10 minute window where fingerprint is not required

That's what I was gonna say!! This "fixed" mine. I set it to lock as soon as I shut the screen off, asks for a finger print every time

Either that or you have smart lock enabled
