My wifi was working totally fine until about a week ago. I tried to connect to Wifi one day and it would never connect. I checked advanced settings in the WiFi menu to show Mac address and ip address and it showed ip address unavailable. I've done a factory reset. Even booted in recovery and wiped cache. Nothing has worked. Please help!

If the IP address is unavailable I can think of two possibilities.

1. The wifi firmware (or radio) in the phone is shot.

2. The router has no more IP Addresses to give out. Did you connect any new devices to the router? Did you make sure you increased the DHCP range by one? (Also check to make sure some of your neighbors aren't connecting to your router. Check the MAC addresses against YOUR devices.)

I didn't connect any new devices to my router. I finally swapped it out for a brand new s7 edge today. I can connect to wifi just fine now. However I checked my advanced wifi settings, just out of curiosity, and it also says ip address unavailable. I stuck scratching my head on this one.
