AC Question

When I listen to music...not streaming, but music on my device, I use Google Play. Well it has started randomly muting songs for 10-30 seconds at a time. So I tired a few other music apps from the Play Store and I get the same results.

No I don't have anything running in the background and I have no notifications going off at the time of the music muting...I am just so lost and confused as to why this is happening.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Welcome to Android Central! Does this ever happen with other sound (like while you're on a phone call)? Check the headphone jack to make sure it's clear of debris--use a can of compressed air to blow it out, or a damp toothpick to root around.

It only happens with the music apps..and has only started in the last day or two.

headphone jack is clean and clear!

should point out that headphones work fine as does bluetooth...it is just when I try to listen from the phone's speaker

It might be a faulty headphone jack, though. If it's intermittently thinking that headphones are plugged in, that might cause the sound to disappear from the speaker (since the phone thinks headphones are plugged in). You wouldn't notice this with actual headphones plugged in, or on Bluetooth.

Try wiping the cache partition as a general troubleshooting step: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-24999

This has not helped me, with the same problem. Any other ideas?

I just read on another thread to install "soundabout" app. I did it and yahoo, it works great now. Just set media to speaker and everything else leave on default.
