S7 edge os update

Upgrading my S7 edge with latest os upgrade and still upgrading after 3 hours. The screen keeps flipping between 'upgrading applications' and a pulsing Samsung logo.
1. Is it meant to take this long.?
2. If it's in a loop how do I get out of it?

Welcome to Android Central! It shouldn't take that long. Was it an official system update pushed over-the-air, or did you download it manually from a website?
