S7 Edge problem after Oreo update

I updated my S7 Edge on AT&T recently and like the way it looks. It seems a little slower but not horrible.

My biggest complaint is I keep getting a message saying "System UI has stopped responding". I can click Close App or Wait. If I close it, I have to click the home button, swipe the screen and then unlock it. Sometimes what I was working on will be there and sometimes I have to click the recent button and click what I was working on.

Anyone else having this trouble or something similar?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Yes, I have wiped the cache partition and tried some other things I found on the internet. I think I'm to the point of doing a factory reset. I'm assuming that I will lose all of the data on my phone such as progress on games, etc. I've never had to do a factory reset before. I know the only way to back up data is to root the phone but I don't want to do that.
Thanks.

It's also possible some app you installed isn't playing nice with the latest system update. so you could see if the problem persists in Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28008. If the problem goes away, that means you'd have to uninstall apps one by one until you've found the culprit. Tedious, I know, but unless you have some suspicion to begin with, it may be the only way.
